John Perkins is an economist, author, shamanistic healer and all-round genuine global hero. If you are interested in changing the world then you must find out about John Perkins.
Perkins’ book Confessions of an Economic Hitman stayed on the New York Times bestseller list for some 18 months back in the late ’90s. It is now considered required reading for anyone interested in the globalisation of the planet and the US agenda. He was an economist who was conscripted (if that’s the right word) to assist with the USA’s Empire bulding agenda. From around the middle of the 20th Century (late 60s and early 70s) his task was to recommend huge loans designed to load up developing nations with enough debt to cripple them. Uncle Sam would then control their politics, oil and bananas – whatever they wanted basically. If you think this sounds a bit cooky, a bit conspiratorial then it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee. Perkins confesses all in glorious detail in his book Confessions of an Economic Hitman. It’s quite a read.
While John was working as an economic hitman for the greatest empire in history John kinda did what anthropoligists refer to as “going native”. In other words he lost the disconnect that well behaved imperialists are supposed to keep to distance themselves from the cultures that they are exploiting. He got involved in Peruvian Shamanism and now runs workshops in same. He writes books and hangs out with the likes of Jane Goodall. In other words he’s cool.
John Perkins has a new book out called Hoodwinked this is billed on his official site as follows: An Economic Hitman reveals why the world financial markets imploded and what we need to do to remake them.
John set up a not for profit 20 years ago called Dream Change. Check out the Dream Change site: a world wide grass roots movement of people from diverse cultures and backgrounds dedicated to shifting consciousness and promoting sustainable lifestyles for the individual and global community.
